Here's a shot of the coal train drag the Reading was famous for
Welcome to the outdoor layout running along the boundry of the backyard. The base is made from 1x6 decking. The track is Gargraves stainless steel with UV protected plastic ties. Every other section of track is soldered to a main trunk line. The track has been up for 6 years and has held up remarkably well. It has been through the Texas heat and Texas hail has dinged it up a bit, but electrically it is fine. All I do is give it a quick cleaning before I use it. My grandaughter thinks it is the greatest thing ever. The controls as stated previously are modular with a quick disconnect so I just plug it in to the track and away we go.
